We hope you will join us Wednesday, Sept. 7 to honor MIKE STRUEBING of Omaha, who is the recipient of the NAIFA-Nebraska Distinguished Service Award (DSA) for 2022.

Our celebration will include cocktails starting at 6:00, followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30 and the program should conclude by 7:30.

The DSA is presented annually to an individual member (active or retired) who has made significant and diverse contributions to the insurance industry, and who embraces the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) “Whole Person Concept”.  The Whole Person has been defined as one who “is engaged in a lifetime quest to achieve balance and congruity in all aspects of his or her life and continually seeks to develop his or her full human potential.”  The Whole Person seeks balance in seven significant areas – family, health, education, career, service, financial and spiritual. ABOUT OUR AWARD WINNER - In 1985, after a successful 10-year teaching and coaching career, Mike Struebing, CLU, LUTCF, RICP, LACP entered the financial services field with Security Mutual Life in Omaha. Since that time, Mike has built a clientele of individuals and businesses in Nebraska and Iowa.  Today, as a member of the team at Today’s Benefits & Financial Services Mike has developed his business around personal financial strategies for the individual, family and small business owner(s).

To say Mike's involvement in NAIFA has been extensive – is the understatement of the year.  He is past president of both the Omaha and Nebraska chapters of NAIFA and currently serves as a member of the National Grassroots Committee (formerly Association Political Involvement Committee). Mike has been involved in some sort of NAIFA leadership position at the local, state or national level every year for at least the last 30 consecutive years and probably longer than that, without ever taking a break.  Mike served as NAIFA-Omaha president in 1997-98 and was honored in 2007 as NAIFA Omaha's "Agent of the Year".  He served as NAIFA-Nebraska National Committeeman for 13 years, from 2003 thru 2016.  In 2020 he was inducted into the NAIFA-Omaha Hall of Fame. Over the years, he has also served on various boards including the Millard Athletic Association, Metro Omaha Softball and as chair of the administrative council of his church.  Mike enjoys hunting, fishing, relaxing at the family's lake cabin and a "great bottle of wine". Mike and his wife Peg have three daughters: Erin a school teacher in Schuyler, Nebraska; Amy a business analyst in Omaha and her husband, Tyler (two grandsons, Conner and Eli), and Emily, a Physician Assistant in Hastings.
