We hope you will join us Tuesday, September 12 to celebrate and recognize the 2023 Leadership in Life Institute (LILI) Class -- and honor MARK MENDENHALL of Farm Bureau Financial Services in North Platte, who is the recipient of the NAIFA-Nebraska Distinguished Service Award for 2023.
Our celebration is in conjunction with the Nebraska Insurance Leaders Forum in Lincoln, which begins that afternoon. And if you haven't yet registered for the Forum, you can still do so!

We also will be recognizing our NAIFA-Nebraska Distinguished Service Award recipient -- Mark Mendenhall, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF
Mark's long and successful insurance career with Farm Bureau Financial Services as an agent and agency manager started in 1985. He has been a NAIFA member since 1987. During his 36+ years of membership, Mark has served in nearly every leadership role at the local level, including three terms as president of the NAIFA-Central Nebraska Association and going on to be president of NAIFA-Nebraska in 2012-13. Mark moderated multiple LUTC classes and has worked tirelessly on the Local and State IFAPAC committees, including chairing the State committee for several years and making several trips to Washington DC to represent the interests of NAIFA-Nebraska members and their clients. He also is a graduate and a former moderator of the LILI program.
Mark also has a strong record of community service. He has been a member of the North Platte Rotary Club since 1993 and served as District Governor in 2003-04. He has been very active with Bethel Evangelical Free Church in North Platte, including teaching classes and serving on the Church's Elder Board.
Mark and his wife Jami were married in June of 2000. Mark joined a busy family which has now grown to include seven beautiful grandchildren under the age of twelve. Their daughter Emily and her husband, Brock Wurl live in North Platte. Emily is a part-time instructor at Mid-Plains Community College and Brock is an attorney at Paloucek, Herman, and Wurl. They have three children, Norah, Caleb, and Natalie. Their son Adam is an attorney and started O’Rourke Business & Legal Solutions in 2012. He and Emily (business consultant) live in Denver and have two sons, James and Callen. Our daughter Katelyn and her husband Josh Sperle live in North Platte. Josh and Katelyn are the founders of Hide Park Apparel, a company that designs and creates custom logos for caps from repurposed footballs. (hideparkapparel.com) They have two daughters, Joy and Leah.
