Changes include some gradual changes/phase-outs as a part of the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act from 2017, possible politically-motivated decisions impacting taxes, and some new Nebraska legislation that will see a variety of major tax changes impacting taxpayers

Klintworth, CPA, MT – Partner with HBE, LLP - Brian graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a business administration degree with emphasis in accounting and finance. He joined HBE in 2015 as an intern and shortly after began his career full-time as an accountant. Throughout this time, he served as a trusted tax advisor to various businesses and clients, most recently as the firm’s Tax Director. He was promoted to partner with the firm in June, 2022.

The World of Fraud -- Laurie VanderWal is a licensed insurance professional with 30+ year experience and is currently an independent insurance agent.  She has been speaking and training on cyber issues including identity theft and data breach management for 15 years.  She has developed a portfolio of curriculum for insurance professionals with both traditional subject matter and cyber related topics including compliance and ethics for today's technology culture.  She offers training in risk management on privacy and security of data that will assist business in managing their liability and vulnerability to a data loss. 

Increasing Your Professional Power to New Levels of Excellence - Dr. Jerry V. Teplitz has a background is as unique as the techniques and approaches he teaches.  He is a graduate of Hunter College and Northwestern University School of Law.  He practiced as an attorney for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.  At that point, Dr. Teplitz’ career took a dramatic change of direction.  He studied and received a Masters and Doctorate Degree in Holistic Health Sciences. He was also on the faculty of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management for nine years.  Dr. Teplitz has been President of his consulting firm and as a professional speaker, he has spoken at over 1800 meetings and to over one million people. He conducts seminars in the areas of leadership, management, stress management, employee productivity and sales development.

CE CREDITS

Each of the two programs in the morning will provide one hour of Insurance credit for both NE & IA, along with 1 CFP® credit, 1 CLE Legal credit (NE), 1 CPE Accounting credit, and 1 Professional Recertification (formerly PACE) credit.
