For more than 20 years, NAIFA-Omaha has been recognizing local-area high school seniors for their accomplishments with our "Awards of Excellence" scholarship program.

Join us Thursday, August 8 for a special breakfast meeting at which we will honor this year's award recipients as they head off to college in the Fall.  You'll learn more about the scholarship program, sponsored by the NAIFA-Nebraska Foundation, and meet some of the area's most outstanding young people and their parents.

AND -- we have an intriguing guest speaker who will relate well to our scholarship winners because he is only 18 years old himself!

Jack Sayers is a resident of Malvern, Iowa, and graduated from East Mills High School in December. Always interested in politics, Jack paged for the Iowa House of Representatives Majority Leader in the Spring of 2023, was a page in the United States Senate for the Republican Conference in the Summer of 2023, and clerked for the Iowa House Appropriations Chairman from January to May of this year.  This spring, Jack was asked to run for a position on the Mills County Board of Supervisors. With two spots open, and two incumbents running for re-election to those positions, he knew he would have to campaign hard. Campaign hard he did. Jack attended meetings all over the county and knocked on several hundred doors.  On June 4th, during the Republican Primary, Jack’s hard work paid off. He came in first place with 890 votes, and is on his way towards becoming the youngest County Supervisor in Iowa’s history since the frontier age.

The hot breakfast buffet line will open at 7:45AM, and the program will go from 8:15 to approximately 9:15.

This event is FREE for all NAIFA members, plus you are welcome to bring a non-member at no charge.  There is a $20 fee for all other guests.
