There is no cost for NAIFA members to attend.  Spouses and other guests are welcome for a guest fee of $30 per person, payable online or at the door by cash, check or credit card.

Featured Speaker - 2024 O.R. Frey, CLU, Award Winner:  Mike Cooper, LUTCF - Omega Insurance Group

Michael Cooper has been an agent for nearly 20 years and has spent that time building lasting relationships with families and business owners across the state of Nebraska.  He moved from Missouri to Nebraska in 1993 and began his senior year of high school.  To this day, he would tell you that moving and starting over his senior year is still one of the hardest things he’s ever done.

Mike began his career as a Farmers agent in 2006 and spent seven and a half years on the captive side of the agency system. Then, after working four years at an independent agency, he was encouraged to go out on his own. He launched his independent agency, Omega Insurance Group in Lincoln in September 2018.  

Mike first became a NAIFA member in 2007 and almost immediately got involved in his local association.  He went on to chair several different committees and eventually became president of the NAIFA-Cornhusker chapter.  Mike then joined the State Association board and served as NAIFA-Nebraska president for the 2024 year.  He remains on the State Association Board as Immediate Past President.  Mike is a 2014 graduate of NAIFA's Leadership in Life Institute (LILI) program and has since gone on to moderate subsequent classes.  Mike believes that if you are going to be in this business that it’s a must to be part of the professional organizations within the community.

Mike met his wife Lisa in 2005 and married a year later.  They have three children - two sons and a daughter which take up most of his free time as he travels around watching his sons wrestle.  When not working or spending time with the family, Mike enjoys a round of golf or a game of pool with friends.  On Sundays and Wednesdays you will find Mike at his church where he helps in the children’s ministry.
