All Roads Lead to Lincoln on Tuesday, February 17th!   Plan to join us for the NAIFA-Nebraska Legislative Day "Drive In" in Lincoln.  This is our annual visit with our elected officials for an event with true "grassroots" impact.

We'll be meeting "in-person" at the Governor's Mansion!  Governor Jim Pillen is scheduled to welcome us to the event starting at 8:00AM.

AGAIN THIS YEAR!  Our format will provide attendees with three hours of continuing education credits -- plus an opportunity for you and other NAIFA members to meet privately with the State Senator representing your district. 

PLUS --- attending this event means you are an "actively involved" NAIFA member!  And that means NAIFA members also will be eligible to get an additional SIX HOURS of bonus GENERAL CE credits just for having attended this event!  Thanks to the passage of LB 486 in 2018, NAIFA-Nebraska members who are "actively involved" in supporting the Association are now eligible to receive six hours of CE for each 2-year renewal cycle. You must be a Nebraska resident and a NAIFA member to receive the six bonus hours of CE.

7:30 AM -- Check-in table open with hot breakfast buffet available

8:00 - 8:30AM -- Welcome remarks from Governor Jim Pillen 

8:30 - 9:00AM -- Joey Spellerberg, Nebraska State Treasurer  

9:00 – 10:00 AM -- Sen. Bob Hallstrom, Sen. Tony Sorrentino and Senator Mike Jacobsen (tentative)

10:00 - 10:15 AM -- Break

10:15 - 10:30 AM -- Liz Lyons, NAIFA-NE Lobbyist with HB Strategies Law Firm

10:30 - 10:45 AM -- Cally Ideus, NAIFA-NE member and candidate for Legislative District 30

10:45 – 11:00 AM -- IFAPAC Update and Closing Remarks – NAIFA-NE President Todd Gaswick

11:00 – 11:15 AM -- Prep for Lunch Meetings with State Senators

11:15AM - 1:30PM -- Pre-scheduled appointments with Nebraska State Senators (Approximately 30 individual appointments have been scheduled; details concerning your appointment can be located in the NAIFA mobile app as well as provided upon your arrival).  Lunch will be provided; in some cases you will be taking boxed lunches with you to your appointment with a Senator.

Lunch will be available following the morning program and briefings.  The NAIFA-Nebraska office will schedule a time for you to have a brief 10-15 minute meeting with your State Senator in their Capitol office during the lunch hour or the early afternoon.  We'll provide you with all the tools and information you'll need to have a productive meeting.  If you've never met with your State Senator before -- don't worry about it!  We'll pair you up with a "veteran" NAIFA member to accompany you to your meeting.  You're sure to come away having taken an important first step in establishing a good relationship with your Senator.

There is no fee for NAIFA members to attend this important event!  Non-members are welcome to attend for a $25 guest fee.

SPECIAL NOTE TO OUR MEMBERS:   Attending this event is a great way to learn what NAIFA is really known for -- our Advocacy efforts on behalf of our members, our industry and YOUR clients! And in addition to Insurance CE credits, this event also will provide three hours of CE for CFP professionals.

Driving in from outside of the Lincoln and Omaha areas?  Then we'll provide you with some gas money!  If you're a NAIFA member driving in from one of these areas, you'll be eligible for the following travel reimbursement:

• Grand Island area -- $40.00
• Kearney area -- $50.00
• North Platte area -- $75.00
• Scottsbluff area -- $125.00
