PROGRAM OVERVIEW

MORNING CE PROGRAM: "The Great Income Gap - AssetBased LTC”

As Americans live longer and healthcare costs continue to rise, the financial impact of extended care has become one of the greatest threats to retirement security. Will your clients' retirement income plans be enough to cover the unexpected costs of long-term care?

This timely and practical session explores the growing "income gap" that can occur when retirement income falls short of meeting extended care expenses. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the factors affecting retirement income during the distribution phase, current and projected costs of care, and the trends driving these expenses higher in the future.

The course will also examine the role of long-term care planning in protecting clients' assets and preserving their financial independence. Learn how traditional Long-Term Care insurance and Asset-Based LTC solutions can help fill the gap, along with practical funding strategies such as repositioning existing cash assets, utilizing earned income, repurposing Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), and leveraging income riders on existing annuities.

In addition, participants will gain an overview of the Pension Protection Act and how HIPAA-qualified, PPA-eligible annuities may provide tax advantages when funding long-term care benefits.

Whether you are new to long-term care planning or looking to expand your retirement income strategies, this course provides valuable insights and actionable concepts to help clients prepare for one of retirement's most significant financial challenges.

MORNING CE PROGRAM -- "Education Planning with 529 Plans — A Smart, Simple Way to Save for Higher Education"

With college costs continuing to rise, more families are looking for effective ways to save for higher education while maximizing tax advantages and preserving financial flexibility. This informative session will equip insurance and financial professionals with the knowledge needed to incorporate education savings strategies into their clients' comprehensive financial plans.

Participants will gain a practical understanding of 529 plans, including how these tax-advantaged savings vehicles work, the structure of the Nebraska Educational Savings Plan Trust (NEST 529), and the various account and ownership options available to families. The course will explore the significant tax benefits of 529 plans, including Nebraska state income tax deductions, tax-deferred growth, and tax-free withdrawals for qualified education expenses.

In addition, attendees will learn how 529 plans can play an important role in estate planning through gifting strategies and the five-year super-funding election. The course will also address funding options, rollovers and transfers from other education savings vehicles, financial aid considerations, and the wide range of investment portfolios available to meet different savings goals and risk tolerances.

Whether your clients are saving for a child's future, a grandchild's education, or their own continuing education, this session provides practical strategies and valuable insights to help them make informed decisions and build a strong foundation for educational success.

Join us to discover why 529 plans remain one of the smartest, simplest, and most flexible ways to help families prepare for the ever-changing cost of higher education.

KEYNOTE PRESENTATION -- "From Passion to Peak Performance"

4 Steps to Be a Distraction-Proof Advisor

A lurching market, email overload, or even self-doubt about finding ideal clients—these are just a few of the many distractions that can rob you of your valuable time, energy, and emotion. Distractions are costly and make it challenging to focus on what matters most—growing relationships that grow assets.

Paul is a financial advisor himself, and so he “gets it.” In this presentation based on key points from his book The Distraction-Proof Advisor and drawing from his Olympic medal-winning experiences, Paul equips advisors with mindsets, actions, and words that work.

Advisors come away with practical and actionable ideas to identify key priorities and determine next steps, so they can get on track to actually having the businesses they once dreamed about.

Advisors Learn…

  • How to build repeatable systems for servicing clients and finding new ones.
  • Words that actually work in the real world when asking for referrals.
  • Techniques to overcome everyday distractions.
  • How to focus on the small details that make a big difference over the long haul.
  • Why they’ll succeed sooner if they commit to an effective daily routine.
